This just in. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced publicly in Washington, D.C. that the health care proposal making its way through the U.S. Senate will include a “Public Option” component.

Better late than never. There is a caveat (isn’t there always?). The states can “opt-out” from the Public Option should they so choose. The exact mechanism for doing that is not yet precisely known at this time but at least the U.S. Senate has caught up with the House of Representatives and the American people who have been clamoring for the Public Option for months on end!
