In case you weren’t able to make it for Saturday’s “Slash-Oil” event at Ocean Beach yesterday morning I’ve included two short videos of that event.

Approximately 800 people finally joined in the festivities as we spelled out the words “Slash-Oil” in the sand and also ran to the beach en mass and lined up and down the beach holding hands while the helicopter overhead hovered for what we hope are some great videos and images.

The premise behind this event is simple: To protest the April 20, 2010 oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico by British Petroleum (aka “Brutish” Petroleum).

The first YouTube Video – Features Brad Newsham, the organizer, using his bullhorn to get folks ready to fill in the words – “Slash-Oil” and also to invite folks way down by the water’s edge up to our group to help fill in the words.
