“PREDATOR NATION: CORPORATE CRIMINALS, POLITICAL CORRUPTION, AND THE HIJACKING OF AMERICA”

How’s that for a Subject Line?

I can’t claim credit for that one.  It’s the title of Charles Ferguson’s latest book – (he’s also the author of “Inside Job”).

.

He lays it all out – how we arrived at this juncture in our nation’s history – two steps from oblivion.

.

What is still not clear is a realistic remedy for our country’s economic ills.

.

What is crystal clear is that no one on Wall Street or in Corporate America in general has been prosecuted for the derivative-driven manipulation of our economy.

.

This fact alone contains the very “core” solution.

.

We are not a nation of laws.  We are a nation of outlaws operating at heights we can only begin to imagine and with technology that far surpasses anything that law enforcement or the political establishment has at its disposal to deal with.

.

I feel like we’re playing “wack-a-mole” – every time we think we’ve given a thumping to Corporate America they just come roaring back stronger than ever.

.

Corporate America is like HAL, the computer in the movie “2001:  A Space Odyssey” who controlled everything on the spaceship.

.

Ultimately, Astronaut Dave had to decommission HAL, module by module.

.

Corporate America, like HAL, has to be decommissioned module by module and thoroughly “reprogrammed”.  Mere change or reform is simply out of the question.  The ONLY solution is a total redesign of the very construct underpinning the corporate premise.
