VIDEO ==> OBAMACARE LIVES – ANOTHER 5-4 VOTE BY U.S. SUPREME COURT – CHIEF JUSTICE ROBERTS “SAVES THE DAY”

Suffice it to say that U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts was the surprising “swing” vote in today’s U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding the Affordable Health Care Act (Obamacare).

Most pundits had pegged the swing vote to come from Justice Anthony Kennedy.  They were dead wrong.  Go Figure!

Personally, I think Justice Roberts saw this as perhaps the most historic vote of his career and simply wanted to be on the “winning” side.  He can go on and be just as hell-bent of a conservative as before but this time he will rank among the “Immortals” after turning out to be the deciding vote on this epic piece of health care legislation.

The Chief Justice adroitly managed to sidestep the “Commerce Clause” underpinning espoused by the Obama Camp and opposed by the Republican Right-Wing by opting instead to base his decision on Congress’ constitutional power to levy taxes.  At the heart of the “Commerce Clause” argument by the Obama Camp is the Individual Mandate – the most contentious element of the Affordable Health Care Act.  Roberts ended up treating the Mandate as nothing more than a tax penalty that Congress was well-empowered to impose on those individuals who decide to voluntarily opt out of Obamacare.

Roberts showed he can “pivot” with the best of them.

Anton Scalia will stew in his juices for a long, long time. His dissent is reportedly more than a bit “tart”.  Hot damn!

What the court’s decision did today was to immeasurably advance the Presidency of Barak Obama.  Along with Monday’s favorable ruling for the Administration on Arizona’s immigration legislation the Republicans have suddenly come up empty close to the November Presidential election.

Mitt Romney is sucking air right now.  He’s got lots of money but the SOB is running on fumes.  Mark my word, come September, Obama in full campaign mode will slice and dice this walking/talking mannequin from Brooks Brothers.
