Lest you think differently, the real danger facing this Republic resides in the “Rolling Thunder” within the Republican Party and not the Tea Party Brigade.  It is best personified by the Republican Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie (Rolling Blubber Himself).

He is the first among equals given the current crop of Republican Governors that are hell-bent on tearing down anything that Democrats have fought hard for to make our society a more humane and civilized one.  I only need to mention some of his cohorts who are masquerading as governors currently:   John Kasich/Ohio, Scott Walker/Wisconsin, Rick Scott/Florida, Tom Corbett/Pennsylvania.  The list goes on and on.

These guys are intent on rolling back everything from voters’ rights, Planned Parenthood,  teachers, firefighters, police, state workers and nurses unions, fair and accessible education for all, badly needed transportation projects, libraries, after-school programs, access to Medicare, access to higher education, badly needed unemployment insurance extensions, homeowners’ rights (Bank Foreclosures), and on and on and …..

I single out Chris Christie because he was an attendee at the secret Koch Brothers conclave in Vail, Colorado in June of last year where he was one of the actual speakers.  The Koch Brothers, just to be clear here, are multi-billionaire right-wing apparatchiks who want to dismantle virtually everything in the way of “government” and transform our society into a completely unfettered corporate system.

Christie snuck out of New Jersey to attend that event and then snuck back into New Jersey with no one the wiser.  It was never even listed on his official governor’s log.  If there’s a “Benito Mussolini/Brown Shirt” prototype in the Republican Party it is New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie!

If you don’t quite believe me about Chris Christie, check out the short video below where “Bulldog” Christie lashes out at a heckler while he is on vacation on the Jersey Shore.  This is something out of the “Sopranos” for sure. But then again, that’s probably the playbook that the Republicans feel is their sure path to power.
