ROMNEY IS CAUGHT BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE – BAIN CAPITAL ON ONE SIDE AND SHELDON ADELSON ON THE OTHER

Poor, poor, pitiful “Willard” (aka Romney) is now planted firmly between a Rock and a Hard Place:

Mitt “Willard” Romney can’t figure out when he actually “retired” from Bain Capital to work on the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.  Was it 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002?

In SEC filings he is listed as the sole shareholder in 2000, 2001, 2002 for Bain Capital and was paid at least $100,000 per year during that time for management fees.

I think Mitt has what they call “selective” memory.  He calls it (or his top aide, Kevin Madden does) “retroactive retirement”.  Sort of like going back and applying whiteout to your personal history.  It works on papyrus, it should work in real life, right?

Why all the fuss over these few years (1999-2002).   Well, it seems that the outsourcing of American jobs to overseas locations by Bain Capital really took off during this specific time period.   Romney, of course, has denied throughout his campaign as having anything to do with the outsourcing of American jobs.  Hence, the “revelations” of Bain’s involvement in this type of activity is absolutely anathema to the Romney campaign.

Ok, so much for Bain Capital, now what’s Sheldon Adelson got to do with the “Mittster”?  Plenty.  Adelson is the leading GOP money man, having donated literally tens of millions of dollars to Republican candidates – and upwards of $25-million to Romney alone.  In fact, he is considering expanding that up to $100-million.  Wow!  That’s a lot of quid-pro-quo!

BUT –

It gets better.  Adelson is running a gambling empire in a desolate spit of land in Macau – just across from Hong Kong.  It is the gambling capital of the entire planet.  It rakes in over $33.5-billion in annual revenue per year.

There’s one huge problem.  Aside from Being Romney’s biggest campaign backer, Uncle Sheldon has been violating the Foreign Corruption Practices Act by using a Chinese-born intermediary – Leonel Alves, to “persuade” Macau officials to grant favored business status for Adelson’s Macau casino business at the expense of other competitors or to overlook the existing written contracts Adelson has with the Chinese authorities that regulate his business activities.

Mr. Alves was paid $700,000 for his services early on for “smoothing” things out for Adelson and is currently still employed by Adelson’s Company, The Las Vegas Sands.   The in-house attorney for the Las Vegas Sands (Mr. Gonzalez-Pita – the Las Vegas General Counsel) resigned in April 2010 as he knew that the enormous sum paid to Mr. Alves amounted to nothing more than “bribery” – in direct contravention to the Foreign Corruption Practices Act.

So there you have it.  Bribery and widespread corruption at the doorstep of Mitt’s biggest campaign donor.  And Poor “Mittens” himself being memory-challenged on over precisely when he “retired” from Bain Capital (let’s see, when did we start “outsourcing”American jobs, yes, that’s when I really retired from Bain, right?).

Willard is caught between his own pack of lies about when he retired from a company that outsourced American jobs and his willingness to accept huge campaign contributions from an enormously corrupt crony Las Vegas casino owner.
