4 VOTING “PRECEPTS” THAT NEED TO BE RE-ESTABLISHED IN THE U.S.A – FOR OPEN, FAIR + TRANSPARENT ELECTIONS

Bev Harris (www.blackboxvoting.org) has posited today that we need to “reaffirm” the above-referenced 4 PRECEPTS in our voting protocol here in the U.S.A. to have open, fair & transparent elections that truly produce ACCURATE voting results..

Ms. Harris states:

“We have to help the public understand that public controls over our own elections are the very essence of self-government, and self-government is the basis for all democratic systems.”

“There are four things the public must be able to see and authenticate: 1) Who can vote (voter list) — 2) Who did vote (poll list) — 3).Counting of the vote — 4) Chain of custody.”

Ms. Harris goes on further to point out that:

“Germany ruled that the public must be able to see and authenticate every essential step of the election, without need for special expertise, and that no after the fact procedure can be substituted for the right to authenticate the original count.”

..

As a matter of fact, the Highest Federal Court in Germany categorically ruled in April 2009 that “no” electronic/computerized voting machines were to be permitted.  It would be, in fact, ILLEGAL to utilize such devices.  Voting would have to proceed by using only PAPER BALLOTS .

I don’t give a DAMN as to the fact that here in the Good Ol’ U.S.A. we commonly have a plethora of “propositions”, etc. – that “clutter” up the ballot – and that seemingly call for the use of computerized/electronic voting machines simply to handle the large amount of voting “data”.  Well, we’re just going to have to “deal” with it.  Paper Ballots are going to be the standard practice in the future in this country – it’s inevitable.  Electronic/computerized voting machines will have to go. They are just way too vulnerable to human “manipulation”.
