TEA PARTY SENATOR TED CRUZ “TO THE RESCUE” – HE HOPES TO SIDETRACK OBAMACARE DEBUT – BUT REID SAYS VOTE ON SCHEDULE FOR TOMORROW ON BILL TO KEEP GOV’T RUNNING BUT W/O “DEFUNDING” LANGUAGE – ROCK-ON, TED!

Ted Cruz, Republican (Tea Party) U.S. Senator (TX) is embarked on an effort (right now) in the U.S. Senate to roadblock/stop the Senate vote on the Continuing Resolution bill that contains defunding language for Obamacare.  Cruz is speaking nonstop today but Senate Leader Harry Reid says the vote scheduled for tomorrow/Wednesday will proceed on schedule and that he will “strip” the defunding language from the CR bill.

What does Senator Cruz really hope to prove or accomplish?  He’s rallying the Tea-Party Nation for the 2014 congressional elections.  But in so doing he is actually shrinking the actual Republican turnout (albeit increasing the Tea Party turnout) for November 2014.

What’s more, the 20 or so Republicans in the U.S. Senate “despise” Cruz and are going to join the Democrats to pass a CR bill without the defunding language just to spite Cruz.  The Republicans in the House hate Cruz as well because he has been pressuring them to work on and pass legislation for the continued funding of the government but with the proviso that Obamacare be defunded only to stand up in the Senate last week and finally admit that such a bill had no chance of passage in the Senate.

We have a party (GOP) that is at war with itself.  Come the November-2014 congressional races the GOP will be fighting as much amongst themselves as they will be against actual Democratic opponents.  As House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said in August of the Republicans in the House  – “This Is an Aimless Congress That Is Falling Into Chaos”.
