Site Published Since 2008 – HISTORY BEHIND PAUL REVERE + THE HORSE HE RODE – “BROWN BETTY”

I craft brief blog posts with a sharp political edge (progressive).  The current “crop” of GOPers are hell-bent on destroying this country and have been laboring mightily in this capacity for well over 30-years.  I’ll offer commentary and applicable videos to illustrate the GOP as the full-blown mutant species that they have become.  My interest in national politics began in earnest in 1972 with my volunteer work on the George McGovern campaign and has remained unabated ever since.

In 1775, Paul Revere made his famous ride warning the colonists of the approach of the British. On April 18, 1775 at 10:00 p.m., Revere borrowed a horse, reportedly a Narragansett Pacer named Brown Betty, a small chestnut mare, and rode through Lexington yelling, “The British are coming.” As a result of Revere’s warnings and famous ride, the Lexington minutemen were ready the next morning(April 19, 1775) – for the British and for the historic battle that would mark the beginning of the American Revolution.
