“As TPM’s Sahil Kapur summarized yesterday, after the President’s press conference announcing that 8 million had, to date, signed up for insurance plans via the state or federal exchanges, there are another 3 million young adults who are now allowed to stay on their parents plans; another 3 million Americans who now have access to health care via the Medicaid expansions of ACA and another 5 million who have signed up for non-exchange plans, according to the White House.

That’s 19 million who have obtained health care via the program to date. About 10 million or “way more” of them, according to several recent studies, did not have health insurance previously.

Another 5.7 million remain eligible for Medicaid coverage, but aren’t allowed to receive that health care because they live in states where Republicans have, grotesquely, denied those citizens, among the poorest in those states, access to the expanded program.

Moreover, a new report this week from the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO), “shows the law costing less than in previous estimates in part because of the broad and persistent slowdown in the growth of health care costs,” according to theNew York Times. The new estimate finds that the law will lower the deficit by more than $100 billion over the next decade.

The reduced estimate is attributable mostly to the budget office’s cutting its projections of federal spending for subsidies for insurance premiums, with estimates falling by $3 billion for spending in 2014 and $164 billion over 10 years.

The budget office also issued projections that 12 million more nonelderly people would have insurance in 2014 than would have otherwise, rising to 26 million in 2017.

So those are fairly clear successes for the law, at least in regard to its main purpose: to help more people who could not receive it previously — for all sorts of reasons — obtain health care.”

Liz Cheney has the fucking “balls” to chide Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi today because Pelosi is not “Proud” of our nation’s torture program carried out during the Iraq War.  Like her evil progenitor, the Lizard Lady says torture is good (aka – greed is good) because it is the only thing that will keep us safe from evil-doers as the information obtained by such methods does produce viable and valuable intel.  Snotwash!

Why oh why would anyone want to cast their vote for the GOP in a presidential election?  At this point in our nation’s history it should be painfully obvious to well over 50% of the voting public that while both parties have their detractors one of them (GOP) has gone to extraordinary lengths to dis-ingratiate themselves with vast swaths of voters, particularly those under the age of 30!

How many times can you keep trotting out the same pony (Bush Family) and expect to garner sufficient support to catapult your moribund political party back into the White House.  You know what they say, the “3rd” time is the charm, although in the case of the GOP that would mean a “clinker”.  Jeb Bush is yesterday’s news and certainly will never rein in the GOP’s unruly base.  You can write him off as of NOW!

New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie is now the subject of a Grand Jury investigation in New Jersey which will most probably stretch into next year (2015) and suck the life out of any Presidential campaign attempt on his behalf as donors will not pony up.  This seemingly “new” Republican is toast.  He’ll be lucky if he is not impeached and sent packing home.

In short, there is no “2.0” in the cards for the GOP.  2.0 means something that is newer, faster, stronger and the like.  Everywhere you look – whether it be the Republican governors touted for a White House run, i.e., Scott Walker of Wisconsin, John Kasich of Ohio or Libertarian wing-nut Kentucky Senator Rand Paul you only find insensitivity and outright hostility by them towards any voting constituency that is NOT upper middle-income and “sufficiently” self-sufficient.

No, there are no bright lights on the GOP’s horizon.  We’re dealing with the Ship of Fools.  The demographics of this country are changing so rapidly that those Angry White Guys (aged 55 and over) will soon be overwhelmed and forced into early retirement.    What you have left is a rabid base of racists, nativists, creationists, anarchists (Tea Party) that comprise at least 50-percent of the current Republican Party.  You have, as Lincoln said, a House Divided – and it will NOT STAND!

Okay, the “Money-Bag” Guys in the GOP are crying out (in the wilderness) for Jeb Bush to run for Prez in 2016.  Like, that will unite the Repubs (Tea Party & everyone else) to reclaim the White House and proceed to pillage and plunder the nation for the benefit of the 1%.

.

Jeb Bush couldn’t unite identical  twins!  The GOP “IS” the Tea Party.  There is absolutely no uniting at hand for ANY GOP Presidential candidate in 2016.  This election is not about winning, anyway.  It’s about suppressing any voter who is not a registered Republican – (Democrats & Independents).

.

Jeb is FOR immigration reform.  He is FOR government participation in our economy.  He is FOR (or will not work against ) gay rights and social tolerance.  He is FOR Wall Street (albeit giving mere lip service to Main Street).  He is FOR a strong foreign policy and certainly NOT for non-intervention as the Libertarian Party proselytizes.

It has been suggested that Jeb can simply ignore the GOP “base” – the 27% of rock-ribbed Neantherthals who will vote for Sturm und Drang as opposed to anything that resembles rational thought.  This strategy will not work because of three  individuals, David and Charles Koch and Karl Rove.  Together, with their billions, & PAC’s they will drum up ALL of the 27% of the GOP Nut-Bag Base and see to it that they trot themselves off to the polls in the Spring primaries of-2016 which will so batter JebBush & his candidacy that he will be damaged goods even if he succeeds in securing the GOP nomination.  You can bank on that!

Nothing can save the GOP from itself.  It  is doomed for extinction and like the Nazis in 1945, will go down in flames!!  The GOP as we know it will wither away.  It is Götterdämmerung.
