This week Republican House Speaker John Boehner threatened to keep the debt ceiling from being raised UNLESS spending cuts were made.  The forced sequestration has pretty much cut spending to the bone across the federal government and this fucking jerk from Cincinnati is threatening to hold the full faith and credit of this country hostage so that the GOP can make even further cuts – cuts right into the marrow of the bone.

Well, John, take your boehneritis and inflict it on some other country.  You’re unsteady at best.  You’re a roaring drunk at worst.  You are absolutely the worst Speaker of the House this country has ever seen. Between you and Eric Cantor (House Majority Leader) you have the House of Representatives in a giant straight jacket that puts this country into full-paralysis mode.

They declaw rabid cats.  You need to have both of your Boehner’s removed for the good of the citizenry. Your recent statement that Congress should be judged by how many laws it repeals is a sure sign of a fully-dysfunctional legislator such as yourself.  You’re an absolute nihilist.

You’re nothing but a walking boner!  Maybe if we’re really lucky your “Boehner” will be sequestered – and soon!  (The 2014-midterms are going to be an ass-kicking of epic proportions for the GOP).

Ramming a religiously tinted ideology/orthodoxy down the throats of the populace was only supposed to take place in countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan and  (until recently) Libya, Tunisia, Egypt and the like.

.

Observe the machinations of the Republican Party on the state level in this country over the last several months as it pertains to abortion and you have to conclude that it falls into the category of a Taliban-like imposition of religious orthodoxy.

.

If we include gay rights the Republican Party is similarly predisposed to quashing any prospect for equal protection for the LGBTV community with rare exceptions such as Republican Senator Rob Portman (OH) who reconsidered only because his own son is gay.

.

The Republican Party is a fundamentalist-oriented political bludgeon that has no qualms about squashing the rights of others to placate their hyperbolic antediluvian religious base.  The only thing propping up the GOP in the 21st century is the 4 or 5 multi-billionaire donors (Koch Bros., Phillip Anschutz, Adolph Coors, Richard Melon Scaife, et al.) willing to fork over good money after bad.  Sheldon Adelson (Las Vegas Casino owner and a $100-million donor to the Romney campaign) is probably going to think otherwise in the future.

Without these handful of ultra-wealthy political donors the GOP would blow away like a Texas tumbleweed.  It remains to be seen whether that will in fact happen but if the immigration issue is not resolved soon in this session of Congress the final nail in the coffin of the Republican Party will, in effect, have been driven in by the total inability of the Party of Boehner & McConnell to come to terms with reality.

I think the religiousity that is at the core of today’s Republican Party will suffer the same fate as the Muslim Brotherhood did in Egypt in June when their leader, Mohammed Morsi was removed as head of state by the army after a colossal outpouring of opposition from regular people (20-million) demonstrating in the streets across Egypt.  Nothing like that will occur here in this country but the total disconnect between the average voter and the Republican Party as it finds itself in 2013 will result in across-the-board repudiation of their party in the 2014 mid-term congressional elections.

The Republican Party is the new Taliban, just like the old Taliban.  Their days are numbered as a meaningful national political entity.

How are we supposed to “wrap our minds” around this horror show that is passing for a jury trial of the murder of a 17-year old last year, a 17-year old guy that was coming home at night from the store after buying candy and soda pop.  This 17-year old was soon confronted by a wannabee cop who just simply failed to wait for the soon-to-arrive cops and instead went ahead and literally stalked down 17-year old Trayvon Martin while carrying a pistol and then after finally reaching up with Trayvon he shot him dead.  If the evidence presented by the prosecution is carefully examined there is nothing to suggest that Zimmerman was ever in any real danger. George Zimmerman brought this whole thing upon himself.

You may say, Oh, but shucks, Trayvon was hiding in the bushes (there weren’t any for him to hide where the incident took place) – or – Trayvon sucker punched George Zimmerman (only if you believe Zimmerman was completely blind and clueless) – or – Trayvon was actually the aggressor – (at what point in time does it matter when you may or may not become the aggressor when you are confronted by a slightly over-the-top individual – with a gun – who has repeatedly ignored 911 instructions to NOT FOLLOW you).  Furthermore, Zimmerman never identified himself or offered any rationale to Trayvon as to why he (Zimmerman) was pursuing him (Trayvon).

The coup de grâce is the playback of the screams from the 911 dispatcher’s recordings.  I’ve listened to them.  Others have.  George Zimmerman did.  The Sanford police officer – (you can hear him interviewing Zimmerman) – actually tries to suggest to Zimmerman that the cries are coming from Zimmerman.  Zimmerman (during the interview with the Sanford cop) says it sure doesn’t sound like my voice.  My own take is that the cries sound like they are coming from a YOUNG person, not a burly 27-year old wannabee cop.  The cries are not very hard to make out and characterize.

Zimmerman was told repeatedly to stay put, to not pursue the target (Trayvon Martin).  The clincher would probably be that when the gun shot was heard on the 911 dispatcher’s recording, the cries immediately stopped.

.

Go figure.  If George Zimmerman was the one shrieking, crying out, would he just automatically shut-down IMMEDIATELY after firing a gun shot at Trayvon.  Come on now, let’s be honest with ourselves.

Ladies and gentleman of the jury, I’m asking you to convict George Zimmerman of malevolently and maliciously and needlessly STALKING a 17-year old high school student with absolutely no justification or authorization and which ultimately led to that student’s death in the darkness of the night with only soda and candy to be found on his person.

.

George Zimmerman, you’re a stalking dog and you need to be put down.  You’re a rabid, racist, vigilante that took the law into your own hands and acted strictly on your own in full defiance of the proper authorities and flagrantly flaunted your ineptitude and cowardice which has now wreaked so much unspeakable havoc on to so many people in that community that it will be a long, long time before this stink leaves the area.

Goddamn you, George Zimmerman.  May you rot in Sanford, Florida, you prick!

Wendy Davis Filibustering the Anti-Abortion Bill In Texas Senate

The last few weeks in this country have been absolute crazyville as demonstrated by the GOP’s relentless efforts in various states to impose draconian abortion restrictions.

.

In Texas, a single state senator, Wendy Davis, managed to filibuster the Texas State Senate from passing a restrictive abortion measure outlawing abortions after 20-weeks.

.

In Ohio the governor (John Kasich-R) signed an abortion measure that makes an ultrasound mandatory on every abortion performed in Ohio.  This measure was embedded into the overall Ohio general budget bill which Kasich signed last Sunday and then leaving the State House by the back door.

.

In Wisconsin, Governor Scott Walker (R) signed an abortion measure that makes an ultrasound mandatory and bars doctors without admitting privileges at local hospitals from performing abortions.

.

Mississippi and several other states have passed similar legislation that would in effect shut down virtually all abortion clinics within the state while imposing the ultrasound mandate.

.

 It’s apparent that the Republican Party (what’s left of it) has a death wish and is hell-bent on wreaking as much havoc as possible in the allotted time it has to work its evil on this nation.  Already on the ropes for being the willing accomplice of blocking passage of real immigration reform (and thus a virtual consignment to political minority status or permanent oblivion) the GOP is further trashing their brand by making abortion their newly wrought national rallying cry.

With ingredients at work such as these it’s all too obvious that the death spiral for the GOP is now in full-swing.  All that remains is to see which of the billionaire titans will “abort” their political campaign donation efforts.  The 2012 presidential campaign was not kind to these donors and with the current self-defeating efforts of the Republican Party to cater exclusively to their base and simultaneously alienate women, latino, asian and black voters – it’s time to administer the Last Rites.

A party that worries about the dangers of Sharia law has gone off the deep end and nothing can turn this ship around.

The “Turtle”, GOP Senator Mitch McConnell (KY) – needs a triple chin bypass.  His recent statement downplaying the move to get rid of the Citizens United Supreme Court ruling is a case in point.  He pooh-poohs such efforts as ridiculous, reasoning that corporations don’t need nor should they be provided with “carve-outs” to buttress their legal entitlement to “citizenhood” status, and all else that logically ensues.  Apparently, from his logic, it is just assumed that corporations are one and the same as real, live persons.  That they have the same rights but not the same liabilities. 

.

Well Mitch, seeing as how Citizens United is really the only thing that allows a turtle-talking, triple-chinned good old boy from Kentucky to even exist in the political arena (as the direct beneficiary of gobs of undisclosed corporate political cash contributions) you certainly know which side your bread is buttered on, apparently BOTH sides.

.

Mitch, your smack-talk won’t do you any good, you’re going down next year (Nov.-2014) as are a good many of your fellow Republicans, both in the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives.  You’re going to need a carve-out after you leave Congress.  There’s always Karl Rove’s rogue group, American Crossroads.  You can carve out your own lucrative sideline business hustling money from captivated and  compliant corporate conduits.  Pig out, Mitch, I see yet another chin in your future.

I’ll keep this short-n-sweet.

House Speaker John Boehner (OH) is at the end of his political career as a weak, ineffectual political leader about to be confronted with a colossus – immigration reform.  A majority of the House Republicans are NOT in favor of immigration reform. The conundrum for Boehner is that should he invoke the Dennis Hastart Rule (pass legislation with a majority of Democrats and only a minority of Republicans) to pass immigration reform he will surely be stripped of his role as Speaker of the House.

.

The conundrum for the GOP as a whole is that failure to achieve immigration reform will consign them to a permanent minority status as far as regaining control of the White House.  To get straight to the point, the GOP will not allow for meaningful immigration reform to be passed in this Congress and it’s time to write off the Republican Party as a legitimate national party.  Latinos and Asians will not align themselves with today’s version of the GOP and neither will any other non white voting block.  This writer is consigning the Republican Party to the ash heap of history.

If by some chance immigration reform does pass Congress and heads to the President for his signature it will be so encumbered with restrictions that, in essence, the non white voting blocks will most assuredly see the legislation for what it is and that is this:  a continuing hostility towards ethnic groups by a largely white and conservative political party (GOP).

Either way you can stick a fork in today’s Republican apparatus.  Their real role will be to keep stirring things up in this country for no positive effect and then devising ways to profit from it.  Now, that’s free market enterprise for you.

When you give $300-million to get a walking-stiff like Mitt “Willard” Romney elected President of the United States and you see him lose on the order of magnitude that he did in November-2012 then the chances of you giving again in 2014 are slim and none, and “slim” just left town.

.

The Republican-leaning Gallup poll all but predicted that Mitt Romney would pull the election out and become President.  Gallup should be disbanded as a reputable professional polling organization after it has been completely debunked for its deliberately skewed results in the 2012 campaign.

.

Sheldon Adelson, the Las Vegas gambling magnate, personally donated $100-million to the Romney campaign.  Ouch!  If it weren’t for the two Koch brothers, David & Charles (with their combined $60-billion fortune) the GOP would probably have to rob banks next year to put on a campaign blitz on behalf of House and Senate Republicans running for re-election.

Good money is not likely to follow bad money.

.

The smart money would be on Independents and Democrats.  The GOP vision of an entrepreneurial utopia with individuals becoming completely self-sustaining and unfettered with any economic or governmental constraints is sheer chimera.  The GOP is going the way of the dinosaur but they will inflict their self-destructive mayhem upon this society until the very bitter end, when they finally expire under their own unsustainable, internal contradictions.

Run, Hillary, run.  Maybe you could have Elizabeth Warren as your running mate. Wow, Rand Paul would be mince meat and anybody else the GOP put up would really have to grow up and become far less reliant on demonizing and far more practiced at policy positions.   Fat chance.  Their goose is cooked.  The GOP as a meaningful national political presence is pretty much up in smoke.  Their reason for being is now very much in question.  Their political replacement will emerge as the GOP cannot adapt or evolve into anything other than what it is right now – a rigid, racist, uncompromising, non-inclusive gathering of angry white people clinging to outdated, outmoded and un-American ideas and beliefs.

Good money is not likely to follow bad money.  The GOP will have to steal or chisel money out of donors in 2014 but their days of easy-sleazy, hand-over-fist money are over.

I took this straight from Wikipedia.  Anyone who doubts the integrity or character of Republican Congressman from San Diego (Darrell Issa), currently the Head of the House Oversight Committee in charge of investigating the so-called (trumped-up) IRS scandal, should read the following 3 paragraphs taken word-for-word from Wikipedia.

Or where there’s smoke, there’s fire, literally.  The very building he invested his and his wife’s and his family’s money in (Quantum Enterprises in Maple Heights, a Cleveland suburb) mysteriously burned to the ground destroying nearly all of the inventory.

Quantum/Steal Stopper

After leaving the military, Issa and his second wife, Kathy Stanton, moved back to the Cleveland area. They pooled their savings, sold their cars, and borrowed $50,000 from his family to invest in Quantum Enterprises, an electronics manufacturer run by a friend from Cleveland Heights that assembled bug zappers, CB radio parts and other consumer products for other companies. One of those clients, car alarm manufacturer Steal Stopper, would become the path to Issa’s fortune. It was struggling badly, and he took control of it by foreclosing a $60,000 loan he had made to it when its founder, Joey Adkins, missed a payment. Adkins remained as an employee.^[9]

Issa soon turned Steal Stopper around, to the point that it was supplying Ford with thousands of car alarms and negotiating a similar deal with Toyota. But early in the morning of September 7, 1982, the offices and factory of Quantum and Steal Stopper in the Cleveland suburb of Maple Heights caught fire. The fire took three hours to put out. The buildings and almost all inventory within were destroyed. An investigation of the cause of the fire noted “suspicious burn patterns” with fires starting in two places aided by an accelerant such as gasoline.^[9] Adkins said that Issa appeared to prepare for a fire by increasing the fire insurance policy 462% three weeks previously, and by removing computer equipment holding accounting and customer information. Adkins said that he thinks Issa set the fire on purpose. The insurance company was suspicious of arson and paid only about one-tenth the insured amount.^[19]
