Chairman Jerry Nadler’s House Judiciary Committee Chairman finally got what has alluded them for so long.

After over 6 hours of questioning before their committee today – the witness, one-time Trump campaign manager – Corey Lewandowski – got royally upended by the staff attorney Barry Berke – who was specially retained by the committee.
.
In the last hour of the hearing – Barry Berke – got 30-minutes of uninterrupted interrogation of Lewandowski, and Berke royally delivered.
.
The punk-ass, snot-nosed, dismissive little Trump syncophant – Corey Lewandowski – got stripped down to the core by Berke. By the end of the grilling, Corey Lewandowski was openly and thoroughly exasperated with Berke and attempted to mock him – but to absolutely no avail – and in the process – only lost whatever composure or “street cred” he had built up – in the eyes of the only person who really mattered – Donald J. Trump!

Berke accomplished 2 things in demolishing the heretofore well-constructed personna of Corey Lewandowski.
.
#1 – he got Lewandowski so exorcised over his line of questioning that Lewandowski finally blurted out that he felt no compulsion to be honest with the media – “I have no obligation to be honest with the media,” Lewandowski said, adding that the media are “just as dishonest” as anyone else.. And All of this, taking place right after the lunch break during the middle of the hearings, a lunch break that Lewandowski used to launch his own campaign website for his U.S. Senate bid for his home state of New Hampshire. Wow! Blasting any and all media as liars while turning right around and during a recess break in a congressional hearing going on the internet to throwing his hat into the political arena – but, only to then immediatey expose his true character – that of a snarky little lying bitch.

The second thing that Berke accomplished during his interrogation of Lewandowski – was to get Lewandowski to swallow his own words that he, Lewandowski, had written in his own recently published book – “Let Trump Be Trump” – in which he recounted that he had been in Trump’s company in the Spring of 2017 wherein Trump informed him that he, Corey Lewandowski, would soon be coming on board as a White House staffer in the Trump administration.

Mr. Berke masterfully used this information to weave together the real motive or reason behind Lewandowski’s tacit acceptance to do Trump’s bidding when Trump invited him to the oval office on June 19, 2017 and asked Lewandowski to seek out U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions and give him a short transcribed note – the very note that Trump was dictating to Lewandowski right then & there in the Oval Office – that basically instructed Sessions to appear before the press and notify the world that Robert Mueller’s Russia Probe was being shut down by the U.S. Attorney General of the U.S. That the only investigation that would allowed – henceforth – would be on how to prevent future Russian interference in U.S. elections. Berke strongly and persuasively insinuated that this was all motivated by the very real prospect of Corey Lewandowski soon coming on board as a member of the Trump White House team.

Berke then continued on further within the Mueller report & delved into the matter wherein Lewandowski attempted to set up a meeting with Sessions, but with the explicit proviso that it not take place anywhere near a U.S. governmental building or office – but only at a private, off-the record setting. You see, any meeting at any U.S. governmental building or office always has a log-in book. Every comings and goings is logged in – officially as a permanent governmental record.

Berke pointed out that Lewandowski’s insistence on this criteria was because he – Lewandowski – damn well knew that what he was attempting to do as a private citizen was illegal and a crime – and that he didn’t want any such visit with Sessions officially recorded as ever happening – especially within a U.S. government log-in book. That Trump’s directive to him, to seek out the sitting U.S. attorney general and order him to shut down the Mueller investigation or else he – Lewandowski – a private citizen – would be forced to fire Sessions as U.S. Attorney General – per Trump’s directive – was illegal in every sense of the word and could not be justified under any circumstances.

Berke left a badly-mauled Lewandowski after just 30-minutes of interrogation of this witness and reduced Lewandowski’s integrity immeasurably – as if he had any beyond the fringes of the ultra right-wing wing-nuts.

And, in so doing, they have – in effect – now transformed their committee – the House Judiciary Committee – into a Federal Grand Jury – that carries with it – maximum legal power to not only issue subpoenas – but to ENFORCE those fucking subpoenas – and to ultimately bring justice to bear on any and all witnesses and co-conspirators.

Now, cutting away from Lincoln’s address –

The new year of 1854 found slavery excluded from more than half the States by State Constitutions, and from most of the national territory by congressional prohibition.

But on May 30, 1854 – Congress passed the Kansas-Nebraska Act which allowed people in the territories of Kansas & Nebraska to decide for themselves whether or not to allow slavery.
.
This opened all the national territory to slavery.
.
Basically the Kansas-Nebraska Act gave voters in the territories the power to make constitutional decisions on an economic/social institution like slavery. This half-way measure – allowed the U.S. Congress to completely relinquish its responsibility and cede it all back to voters which only allowed the cancer on the Republic to further infiltrate American society.
.
During this time the infamous Dred Scott case was making its way through the courts – only to end up in the Supreme Court.
.
On March 6, 1857 the Supreme Court rendered its decision – which was that:
.
First, that no negro slave, imported as such from Africa, and no descendant of such slave can ever be a citizen of any State.
.
Secondly, that “subject to the Constitution of the United States,” neither Congress nor a Territorial Legislature can exclude slavery from any United States Territory.
.
Thirdly, that whether the holding a negro in actual slavery in a free State, makes him free, as against the holder, the United States courts will not decide, but will leave to be decided by the courts of any slave State the negro may be forced into by the master.
.
Basically, the Supreme Court had taken the logic and reasoning of the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854 – a half-way piece of legislation – and used it to concoct an ungodly vile & twisted legal opinion that extinguished the very person-hood, and therefore any legal rights of person-hood, of African-Americans in the United States – @ least those in all U.S. territories.

So, half-way measures don’t work and always come back to bite you in the butt!

In 1861, America underwent the Civil War because of the slave issue and the half-way measures that preceded it.
