In essence, Tuesday’s 2014 Mid-Term election was a victory for the “Stupid” that, in large part, is attributable to “Dark” money and the ongoing, ever-worsening income inequality taking place in this country.

.

The Corporate Media (GOP-Centric) is peeling off would-be progressive, moderate voters one-by-one who in turn end up either not voting, or voting for the regressive, repressive aggressive GOP!  It’s an Army of “Stupids”!

.

In the background we have the “Dark” money at work and the President of the Citizens United political action group so admitted to that very fact on Wednesday when he declared it had “leveled the playing field”.

.

Super-imposed over all of this is the very real ongoing economic drama of the top  1% continuing their unabated grasp for ever-increasing control of the country’s economic wealth/assets.

.

The Army of the “Stupids” – fueled by “Dark” money propaganda are, in fact, enduring the brutal consequences of a monied elite (the top 1%) who have stretched the social and economic fabric of this country to the inth degree which in turn has totally bent out of shape the everyday lives of not only the “Stupids” but everyone else as well.

.

It is this Army of the “Stupids” (roughly 25% of the electorate) that is in control at the moment.  They only see their everyday lot and are nowhere close to connecting the dots that lead directly from their miserable economic existence to the fantastical opulent wealth of the top 1% which is stripping the very bark off of the tree of economic prosperity in this country.  The country overall  is, in fact, doing well (the stock market is way up, unemployment is substantially down, the  national debt is way down, etc.) but who, after all, is really doing well?   The elite, the TOP 1%.  Everyone else is fast becoming an indentured servant!

.

We can now rephrase that famous saying – (“To The Victor, Goes The Spoils”) – TO – “To The Stupid, Goes The Power”.

The late, great comic George Carlin did a 3-min./12-sec. comedy skit a few years back.

.

It basically encapsulated the entire thrust of what the Occupy Wall Street movement was all about.

.

Only a handful of people actually have a say in the affairs of our country and that is because they own literally everything —> land, buildings, corporations, banks AND most importantly, the AIR WAVES!

.

They therefore OWN all of the rest of us.  They have us by the BALLS!

.

They tell us what to think, how to react, what to focus on or not.

.

The TOP 1% know only too-well that, for the most part, MOST of us will do as we’re told and not bother thinking about any BIG PICTURE.  They know full well that the 99% of the rest of  us are too bogged down with our own respective daily dramas – like survival – and that we will never mount any real concerted threat directed at their monopoly of power.

.

We, in effect, play the part of the victim all too well.  We allow the mighty plutocratic machine to ram us up the arse continuously and relentlessly with that big Red, White & Blue Shaft.  And, we don’t really work up much of a lather to offer up a real objection or complaint.  We can only muster up a tinny whine and just continue to muddle along.

.

Having lost so many hard fought rights and privileges over the last 30-35 years to these Plutocrats they are now going full-bore after our Social Security & Carlin suggests that they will get that as well.

.

He closes his skit with a complete refutation of the so-called AMERICAN DREAM.  He intones:  “It’s A Dream, Because You Have To Be ASLEEP TO BELIEVE IT!

I mean, three of the nicest guys you could find, Rick Perry, Scott Walker and Chris Christie are on pace to be indicted and convicted for criminal political activities.  When it rains, it pours.  Another GOP Governor, Rick Scott of Florida, will no doubt have his feet held to the fire and be found wanting like his GOP brethern.

.

First, let’s start with Rick Perry who has already been indicted for abuse of power down in Texas (Travis County).  Poor old Rick got caught abusing his power as governor by vetoing $7.5 million over two years for the public integrity unit, which is run by Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg’s office.  Her office investigates statewide allegations of corruption and political wrongdoing.

.

The governor wanted Lehmberg, a Democrat, to resign after she was arrested and pleaded guilty to drunken driving in April 2013.  When she refused, Perry vetoed the money.  The charge of abuse of power was Perry’s “threat” to veto the funding before he actually did so in order to coerce or force Ms. Lehmberg into resigning from her office.

Then, we have the portly pontificating pol from New Jersey, GOP Gov. Chris Christie, who has allegedly been shown through various emails to have either orchestrated or at least tacitly signing off on the partial lane closures (2 out of the 3) of the George Washington Bridge between September 9-13, 2013  for no other reason than political payback against the  Democratic mayor of Hoboken, N.J.

.

Lastly, we have Scott Walker who has been linked to illegal direct/personal solicitation of campaign funds to assist his efforts at retaining his job as governor during the 2012 recall campaign.  He told donors to make contributions directly to the Wisconsin Club for Growth, not to him, and the Club in turn disseminated those funds to countless right-wing entities that then made television and radio ads in support of Walker’s fight against the recall campaign.

.

All 3 of these politicos are major GOP presidential contenders for 2016.  It appears, however, that they have shot themselves in the foot and will be sent packing.   The GOP is running out of viable candidates to face a likely Hillary Clinton candidacy in 2016 and short of a military coup we may very well have seen the last of any credible GOP presidential efforts for many years to come!

Go ahead and watch a visibly drunk/soused/slushed Sarah Palin in this 40-second video wherein Ms. Putz – in slurred speech – seems to be taking a pot-shot at the efforts to bring about a meaningful minimum wage for fast food workers in this country.

Rand Paul lays down some truth:

“The party can’t become the opposite of what it is. If you tell people from Alabama, Mississippi or Georgia, ‘You know what, guys, we’ve been wrong, and we’re gonna be the pro-gay-marriage party,’ they’re either gonna stay home or — I mean, many of these people joined the Republican Party because of these social issues. So I don’t think we can completely flip.”

It’s really a choice. Does the GOP want to compete in states outside of the Deep South and make themselves into a viable national party that can win a presidential election?

The answer is ‘no.’

And, for now, this is a very good thing.
