TODAY’S GOP IS NOTHING MORE THAN A PARTY “IN SEARCH OF A FUHRER” — (“YOUR PAPERS, PLEASE!”) — WE NOW HAVE A FULL-BLOWN EPIDEMIC OF “FUHRER-FEVER”

The whole series of recent news events on the GOP’s ferocious efforts to SUPPRESS the vote in numerous states clearly reveals the final “nail in the coffin” for the GOP of yesteryear.  That GOP is gone and has now been replaced with the Uber Fuhrer-worshipping GOP.

Arizona’s and other states’ crack down on immigrants with unconstitutional harassment and “profiling” by law enforcement authorities is the other punch delivered by the GOP on ordinary citizens who also just happen to be predominantly Democratic.

.

“Your Papers, Please!” is now the appropriate phrase to associate with the new GOP.

.

The shift in the overall “tone” of this party over the last few years is absolutely draconian.  The forces at work have managed to wring out the last vestiges of sanity, humanity and rationality from this now-rancid political party.

.

Their relentless quest to quash the VOTE by making it mandatory to have a voter PHOTO ID as well as the requirement for suspected immigrants to provide papers on the spot for law enforcement officials is simply nothing more than the “re-installation” of a 3rd Reich “control” over the citizenry in a vile attempt to seize overwhelming power to subdue and marginalize whole segments of the population in order to augment an antediluvian GOP party apparatus .

.

The entire GOP apparatus has bought into the propaganda put out by the FOX NEWS shills who rant and rave over the airwaves night-after-night about the “phantom” dangers facing this country from those segments of the population who are “different”, from those who would demand tax fairness, universal health care access, respect for science and reason, a strong secular educational system, equal protection for all citizens in all areas of life and a host of other humane + progressive proposals.

.

Now the GOP is reaching that stage where they want a FUHRER – a STRONG LEADER – one that will beat down all opposition to AUTHORITY and hence the hand-wringing over the selection of a guy like “Willard” Mitt Romney.  The hard-core GOP right-wing basket cases will settle for nothing less than a brown-shirted leader with a “take-no-prisoner” stance.

I will not be surprised if this whole thing evolves into night-time, spot light-enhanced MASS RALLIES – calling for a new type of GOP leader, one that will step things up and just go for the “biggest lie” and drive it home over and over again.

.

There is an undercurrent all across this country where this seemingly nascent stirring of Fuhrer-Fever is becoming ever more palpable and steadily increasing in intensity.

I can just make out the “approaching” sound of the goose-stepping jack boots now, marching around the corner and  coming into full view.
